A Message from the President

A warm welcome to everyone visiting the Korean Society for Shockwave Regenerative Medicine (KASRM).

I am Prof. Kyu-Cheol Noh, and I am honored to serve as the 4th President of the KASRM.

I accept this position with a profound sense of responsibility, especially during these challenging times for the medical community. However, I also view this as a pivotal opportunity to solidify our society's standing. I am committed to dedicating my utmost efforts to build upon the outstanding work of my predecessors and to lead our society in a way that all members can be proud of.

The KASRM stands at a critical juncture, poised to evolve beyond shockwave therapy into a leading academic society in the broader field of regenerative medicine. I believe the role of the President is to serve as a central pillar, setting a clear direction for the future and guiding sustainable growth. To that end, I wish to present four key initiatives for our society's advancement.

1. Deepening Academic Expertise & Expanding Our Horizons: Becoming a "Hub of Regenerative Medicine"

Our most fundamental mission is to lead academic progress. We will not only deepen our expertise in shockwave therapy but also successfully expand our scope to establish KASRM as a true "Hub of Regenerative Medicine."

• Convergent Research Platform: We will actively encourage convergent research combining shockwave therapy with other regenerative treatments like stem cells, PRP, and exosomes, and expand support for multidisciplinary projects.
• Enhancement of Our Academic Journal: We will pursue SCI(E) indexing for our official journal to elevate our international standing and implement systematic support to encourage high-quality submissions.
• Pioneering Research Agendas: We will propose forward-looking research topics, such as AI-driven prediction of treatment outcomes and big data-based clinical studies, and expand the society's research grant program.

2. Systematizing Education & Reinforcing Professionalism: Cultivating Trusted Experts

We will operate a systematic educational program to enhance the clinical capabilities of our members, expanding and enriching the curriculum to reflect our society’s new identity.

• Advanced KASRM Certification Program: We will develop our certification into a comprehensive "Regenerative Medicine Specialist Program," enhancing our members' expertise and public trust.
• Reinforced Hands-on Workshops: We will regularize and expand practical training, such as cadaver workshops and live demonstrations, for immediate clinical application.
• Online Education Platform: We will build an e-learning platform to provide members with on-demand access to the latest knowledge, supporting their continuous professional development.

3. Proactive Policy Engagement & Protection of Member Interests: Voicing Our Position

We will respond more proactively to pressing healthcare policy issues that affect the rights and interests of our members.

• Strengthened Policy Committee: A dedicated committee, including policy experts, will monitor legislative changes and clearly communicate our society's official stance to the government and relevant organizations.
• Objective Evidence & Public Relations: We will accumulate robust clinical evidence to support our policy proposals and provide the public with accurate medical information through various channels.

4. Communication, Unity, & Internationalization: A Society Growing Together

Our society’s advancement will be achieved through the active participation of our members and the expansion of our international network.

• Member-Centric Communication: We will utilize modern communication channels, including mobile apps and social media, to create a "member-driven society."
• Enhancing international exchange and status:  We will strengthen our alliances with societies in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, building on our relationship with ISMST. We will regularize international joint research and invitations to distinguished global speakers to elevate our international prestige.

I envision a future where KASRM, firmly rooted in "shockwave therapy," extends its branches widely into the fertile soil of "regenerative medicine." It is my sincere hope that all our members will join in this endeavor, pooling their wisdom and strength to help our society contribute to public health and grow into a world-class institution.
